NSCSA set up its own container yard in 1997 to support the liner service and provide additional facilities to its customers. The container yard is located at Jeddah Islamic Port, the most significant in Saudi Arabia and has an area of 120,000 sq.m.
This is an effective supportive tool that helps the company to avoid usage of third party services, thereby controlling/reducing costs and ensure efficient and timely maintenance of own equipment. It also enables the company to provide third party services to other companies involved in the same field.
Due to CSY's proximity to the Jeddah Customs bonded area, major customers can release their cargo from the customs premises within the allowed time to avoid penalties & demurrage and store it in NSCSA CY temporarily. The same way a client can delivery out bound cargo at CY ahead of the vessel arrival.
A specialized workshop in the yard takes up repair jobs and refurbishes containers according to the international standards.
